Description:What has an exoskeleton, 3 body parts, 6 legs and a pair of antennae? Why, insects, of course! One million strong and counting, insects are the most diverse and numerous groups of animals in the world, making up over 50% on all known living animals.
During this 3 hour drop off program, we will go on an insect safari, dip-netting for aquatic insects in their wetland homes and sweep-netting for insects in our meadows. Once we have collected our specimens, we will examine all that we catch, learning about animal life cycles and metamorphosis. We will discuss our relationship with insects and how important they are to humans.
This drop-off program is geared for home schoolers ages 6 - 10. Please bring a water bottle and a snack.
